Into The Dawn Barn Quilt Trail

 As many of you know, I live out in the County, in Wyoming, Ontario.  I am not too far from Rondeau and Pelee and points south.  I have noticed in the past when I traverse Hwy 21 through Oil City and Oil Springs towards Dresden and Dawn-Euphemia Township, that I pass by these beautiful Barn Quilts.  I have always been too much in a rush to stop and photograph them, but last Sunday I left early just to be able to capture the images.  The sun was just coming up and very bright, so some are overexposed, but I wanted to share what I experience on my sunrise travels south.  

The trail starts just outside of Oil Springs near the Oil Museum of Canada (another great spot!).  This Barn Quilt is called Turkey Trot. There is also a Quilt on the other side of the sign, but you only see it coming back, so I'll include it at a later date.

As promised, the other side of the sign. It represents the Molecular structure of natural gas!

The next Quilt is called Corn, Wheat and Beans.  This quilt represents a mainstay of crop rotation on many of the area farms.  I is displayed across the road from Dresden's oldest institutions, The Dresden and District Agricultural fairgrounds.

The next Quilt on the tour is called The School House.  It represents the country schoolhouses of the olden days.

The next one is called Swamp Patch.  Self explanatory and a great place to bird! (a swamp patch)

Grandmother's Flower Garden is next. Lovely. 

The next one on the way is called Postage Stamp.

This Quilt is one of my favourites as I know this as a landmark on my way home.  It is called Four Corners.  The low sun really made it tricky to photograph this one!

This Quilt represents The Beef Industry.

This barn was the last that I saw before I turned onto Base Line then Kent Bridge and on to Chatham Kent.
